MARCH 11th, 1997. Time: 20h30. In the city of Canoas, State of Rio Grande do Sul, “near the head of one of the SBCO runways” [Canoas-RS Airport], several people observed five UFOs grouped together, with circular shapes and different sizes. The five unknown objects were white in color, and also varied in speed while performing circular movements. According to the witnesses, the sighting took place under unstable weather conditions; cloudy sky. Photographs of the sighting were taken, but they were not shared in this file. It was also reported that “contact was made with the TWR CO [Control Tower] and the operator.” The sighting was still underway when it was reported to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]. It was not determined, in the report, how long it actually took.
