MARCH 7th, 1994. Time: 21:20. Duration: 40 minutes. “After reported by two aircraft, and an external call”, a Flight Controller at the Control Tower of Porto Alegre Airport observed with the naked eye an unidentified flying object making a “helical trajectory”. According to the military, the UFO was “a moving light” and he had no way of estimating the object’s altitude, size and distance. The Controller himself stated in the report by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]: “APP-PA [Controle de Aproximação do Aeroporto de Porto Alegre] did not see anything on the radar screen”.

MARCH 17th, 1994. Time: 22:00. Duration: 2 hours. When riding in her car on Avenida Erasto Gaertner, in Curitiba, State of Paraná, and then at her home, a woman spotted two unidentified flying objects hovering above the two airports in Curitiba. The UFOs observed with a spyglass seemed to have three points, and seen with the naked eye they looked like stars.

According to the witness who reported the sightings, there were 7 more people watching the 2 unknown objects in the sky. According to her, the size of the UFOs were “a little bigger than an airplane”, and their colors were “silver with red lights around”. The objects were to the east of the observer, many kilometers away, at an estimated altitude of 30,000 feet. The witness further stated that the two UFOs positioned themselves “one on top of Afonso Pena Airport and the other on top of Bacacheri Airport, near Cindacta”, moving “up and down quickly.”

In an additional report, the witness also stated that one of the UFOs “made rapid movements, up and down. A large plane that was passing by higher tried to approach the object and then climbed onto its route again”

In the additional observations of the report made by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], it is stated that: “The observer affirms from personal experiences that it is not a meteorological balloon and she claims to be a UFO insisting that this phrase should be registered and that, from that moment on, she was no longer a skeptical person”.

MARCH 20th, 1994. 19:30. Duration: 2 hours. Seven people in the city of Tuparendi, State of Rio Grande do Sul, spotted an unidentified flying object, small in size, round in shape, and with colors ranging from lilac, yellow to red. The UFO, based on the report, was at a high altitude and was flying at slow speed without leaving trails in the western position of the city. According to the witness, they watched the sighting from her home along with six others with the naked eye at night with a clear sky. According to them, the UFO carried out vertical trajectories. The COMDABRA’s report [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] informs that the event was filmed, but the video file of this sighting was not made available.

MARCH 19th, 1994. Time: 00:15 am. Duration: 6 minutes. In Curitiba, State of Paraná, a witness reported an unidentified flying object, with the appearance of a star, however, flying at a slow speed. The UFO, according to the description, was “like a point” predominantly blue, going towards the center of the city, South of the observer. The UFO was at a high altitude in a “straight and uniform trajectory, always in the same direction”  leaving no traces of condensation and “becoming more distant [until it] lost its luster”. The sighting was made with the naked eye in a clear sky.

[first report] APRIL 20th and APRIL 22nd, 1994.

APRIL 20th. On April 20, 1994, for 4 minutes, about 14 residents of the city of Pompeu, State of Minas Gerais, “were watching the sky [when] at approximately 11:30 pm they saw a blinking object that was descending at high speed and emitting a yellow beam of light”. According to the witnesses, the unidentified flying object was “approximately 600 meters (when closest)” away from [horizontally] her. And about 100 meters high. The description of the UFO by the witness who reported the sighting informs that the object was “oval”, about the size of “a passenger car”, had flashing colors, with alternating yellow and red flares. As for the trajectory, the object moved vertically and after making zigzags, it moved towards the North direction.

The COMDABRA’ report [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] provided additional observations on the case: “The observer stated that this is not the first appearance of such an object and that the population of the city is organizing vigils for future observations. She was instructed to contact COPM1 immediately, if this happen again.”

[second report] APRIL 22nd, 1994.

On April 22, 1994, at 22:13, a resident of the city of Pompeu, in Minas Gerais, reported for the second time in two days the sighting of UFOs, joined this time by about 20 people at a square downtown Pompeu-MG. According to the reporting witness, for 10 minutes the unknown object flew again close and at low altitude. This time the UFO appeared to be a large red and yellow “disc”, flying at high speed without emitting noise or leaving light trails. According to the witnesses’ report, the flying object moved towards Brasília. All sightings were made with the naked eye under ideal conditions of visibility.

APRIL 26th, 1994. Time: 20:30. Duration: 10 seconds. For about 10 seconds, a commercial pilot saw, in the Plano Piloto region in Brasília, Federal District, “a very large yellow fireball”. The object was round, “very large” and “fire-colored”. The pilot informed that the unknown object had a “very fast, very sudden” speed of about “500km/h” and that “the object had a tail and when it fell it flashed”. Also according to the witness, the object “was descending sharply” at the moment when “the observer was facing the East, in the North position.”

MAY 1st, 1994. Time: 23:40. Duration: 1 hour. Four people in Campo Grande, State of Mato Grosso do Sul, spotted an unidentified flying object that was “stationary”, and had “color variations”. The UFO was shaped like a “small luminous point, barely larger than a normal star” and with red, green and orange colors. According to the witnesses, the object was observed with binoculars and it was not possible to accurately estimate the distance between the observers and the object that was in the Southwest of Campo Grande. Also according to the observations in the COMDABRA’s report [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]: “The UFO was first observed by CINDACTA and then reported to the DSV-CG. The [military in charge] reported that a similar event was observed two weeks ago. The bright spot flickered all the time. “

MAY 2nd, 1994. Time: 13:26. Duration: 7 minutes. A pilot and a co-pilot reported the sighting of an unidentified flying object during a “night flight to Curitiba [SBBI – Bacacheri Airport] at 68NM bow 250 FL240 [24,000 feet]”. According to the witnesses, the UFO remained stationary for all of the time. It was round, but “varied to the shape of a star”. The object was also white, blue and red. The co-pilot stated that the UFO positioned itself “northwest of the aircraft”, and that he was not able to estimate the distance between the object and the plane. The sighting of the pilots was done with the naked eye and with good visibility conditions.

MAY 10th, 1994. Time: 16:30. Duration: 1 hour. In Vila Planalto, Distrito Federal, fifteen people observed an unidentified flying object shaped like a disc, with blue, green and red colors. According to the witnesses, the UFO was flying at a very slow speed “almost stopping”, moving from side to side in a circular trajectory. According to the observers, the sighting was done with the naked eye by most people, but the witness who reported the sighting claimed to have used 50x [zoom] binoculars. The sky was clear and cloudless.

MAY 16, 1994. Time: 01:10 am. Duration: 30 minutes. In the city of Santos, State of São Paulo, a man observed, for thirty minutes, four unidentified flying objects “crossing each other’s path at high speed”. According to the witness, the UFOs were above the city center at an altitude that he could not estimate. The UFOs were spherical, yellow, and had a “medium size”, flying at a “very fast” speed. The sighting was performed with the naked eye and under good visibility conditions.
