In 1954, I collaborated with the then Col. João Adil de Oliveira in the FIRST OFFICIAL SURVEY FOR RESEARCH OF “” OANIS “- Unidentified Aerial Objects – opened by then Minister Eduardo Gomes.
In 1957, after the photos taken, aboard the School Ship Almirante Saldanha, near the Island of Trindade, I was allowed to examine the archives of the General Staff of the Navy.
In 1959, authorized by the then Brigadier João Adil de Oliveira, he did twelve television programs – on Sundays – bringing to the public everything that the FAB [Brazilian Air Force] had researched in 1952 and 1954.
At the former Monroe Palace – EMFA – I was talking to MaJ. Brigadier José Vaz da Silva, after he left the 4th Command. Aerial Zone. The then Brigadier Délio, who was in charge of the 4th Air Zone, placed at my disposal the files of the “SIOANI” – System of Investigation of Aerial Objects Identified – of “CIOANI”.
I know those events in 1959 were the exclusive result of the interest of Brigadier Vaz and some officers who served with him in that region of the country. The day I went to São Paulo to see the documentation it was “the sailor’s day”, it was considered a military holiday and I couldn’t wait for the next day. It was only recently that I became aware of the magnificent work projected and partially executed by Brigadier Vaz, now known to the public. I believe that the main “OANILÓGICO” event of that time, witnessed by more than 300 people, was published in full in my book “STRANGER SIGNS” and documented with the declaration of a senior FAB official whose name I kept anonymous. I even published photographs taken by FAB at the place where the marks of a tripod that crushed and twisted the grass were registered. The afore mentioned case is known worldwide as the Tiago Machado case – which occurred in Pirassununga – Vila Pinheiros – when the boy Tiago Machado suffered a lightning attack on one of his legs.
I was a few years away from studying “”OANis”” because I was writing my next book “What Science Builds Flying Saucers?” which should be launched in March. In it I transcribe part of a report I made to EMFA in 1974 – about FLYING DISCS AND NATIONAL SECURITY.
The truth is that whenever the FAB or the Navy was forced to enter an investigation into the “”OANis””, after the investigation, public statements were made about the investigations. Generally speaking, they always said that the facts occurred, they were true, in which they did not know what the “” OANis “were.” In my return I am finding the greatest attacks on our Armed Forces as they are aware of great secrets that are hidden from the Nation. I have affirmed that our Armed Forces do not have any permanent commission to investigate the matter and that they only enter it when the events determine so. But they were talking a lot about a PRATO operation [Operation Saucer] done in the Amazon.
I was fortunate enough to mysteriously receive a copy that appears to be a complete copy of such operation (200 pages). I was then able to affirm that the thing could not have been so secret as they claim… The report, despite the hierarchical level of the official who signs, that it is below official status, shows great work, dedication and effort in order to calm the population attacked by the vampire light classified in the report as “CHUPA” [suck] and by the people and press as “CHUPA-CHUPA”. However, I found a book written by a researcher from the North whose quality finding, in fact, exceeds that of 1: COMAR because it contains consistent medical research information (35 people examined with similar characteristics).
Being back to the subject, I started to correspond with the Brazilian UFOLOGISTS and there is a certainty that the main filming made in the Amazon by the FAB, exists and that they would have been taken to Brasília. That was another time. Today, with video cameras, Brazilian ufologists have dozens and dozens of good films. See what’s happening in Itaburité, Ceará, or in Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, recently presented by the TV Globo program – “O Fantástico”.
I leave here my main question: how can the old films made in Pará, and which would be in the possession of the Ministry of Aeronautics, be known by civilian researchers who are always interested in the subject and willing to collaborate with our FAB?
They are also talking a lot about the secrets of the Airport Control Towers. I have stated that the flight controllers’ records only serve as statistics and that from a practical point of view they do not add anything to our objective research.
