MARCH 25th, 2001. Time: 04h09pm. Duration: 35 seconds. In Brasília, Distrito Federal, four (4) witnesses spotted two (2) unidentified flying objects looking like multicolor lights. The UFOs hovered above the southeastern sector of Brasília and about 2 km apart from each other. The bright objects were observed under good visibility conditions and no photos or videos were made. There were no reports of trails or condensation marks left by the UFOs in their trajectory either.

APRIL 15th, 2001. Time: 10:29 am. Duration: 13 minutes. A witness living in the city of Dourados, State of Mato Grosso do Sul, reported the sighting of an unidentified flying object hovering at an altitude of approximately 30,000ft and at a distance of 20km from the observer. The UFO shifted its shape, after being oval at first, and emitted a white light. The object hovered over the western sector of Dourados, and it was observed under good visibility and also recorded on video, but the video file was not made available.

APRIL 28th, 2001. Time: 5:00 am. Duration: 20 seconds. In the Bairro Alto district, Curitiba, State of Paraná, four (4) people saw a bright round UFO “five hundred times bigger than a star”. The UFO was standing still at an altitude “lower than stars and satellites”. The sighting took place under good visibility and with the naked eye. No condensation trails have been reported. Other observations from the report by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] inform that witnesses considered the UFO “completely different from stars, satellites or airplanes, according to the observer who gave the report.”

APRIL 28th, 2001. Time: 6:40 am. Duration: 30 seconds. In the Champagnhagt neighborhood, in Curitiba, State of Paraná, two witnesses saw an unidentified flying object resembling a red comet, going from West to Southeast. According to the witness, the UFO left long reddish trails of fire. The sighting took place under good visibility and with the naked eye. The report from COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] also informed that: “The observer was unable to specify the distance but declared that the observation was made for 30 seconds.”

APRIL 28th, 2001. Time: 10:00 pm. Duration: 15 minutes. In the Cabral district, city of Curitiba, State of Paraná, two witnesses spotted with the naked eye and also with the use of binoculars a yellow and red star-like UFO, in a rotating movement. The UFO was flying straight towards the Northeast. In the observations of the COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] the witness “reported that the observed object revolved around its own axis and was also observed by his wife.”

APRIL 28th, 2001. Time: 7:30 am. Duration: 40 seconds. A witness in the Vila Nova district, city of Goiânia, State of Goiás, saw a round orange UFO hovering about 20 km away. The object was, according to the witness, the size of 2 Boeing 737s and hovering in the eastern sector of the city. The witness made the sighting under good visibility conditions and filmed what happened, but the video record was not made available in this file.

MAY 2nd, 2001. Time: 9:50 pm. Duration: 40 minutes. Two witnesses in Leblon, city of Rio de Janeiro-RJ, saw several lights in the form of white dots, alternating slow movements and stopped at about 2 km. The UFOs were observed under good visibility conditions and, according to the witnesses, left large trails of red and luminous condensation. The objects were going south, towards the Jacarepaguá neighborhood. In the observations of the COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] report, the witnesses also informed that the objects were like “several red lights falling like drops from the main point (white).”

MAY 24th, 2001. Time 7:10 pm. Duration: 30 seconds. Near the São Gonçalo Canal, in the city of Pelotas, State of Rio Grande do Sul, a witness spotted with the naked eye and also with the use of binoculars, an unidentified flying object in the shape of a green hang-glider and the size of a football field. The UFO was flying at high speed in vertical motion and was seen from a low altitude of 700 meters. Also according to the witness’s report, the object was heading south and was observed in good visibility. The COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] report also states that “in November 1999 the same observer [the witness] had already reported another sighting.”

JULY 12th, 2001. Time: 7:05 pm. Duration: 10 minutes. At least three witnesses spotted an unidentified flying object moving at high speed and at an altitude of approximately 60,000ft. The rocket-like object left clear trails when it was moving in the North/Northeast direction. The UFO was also sighted by two more people besides the operator of the Control Tower at the Airport of São Luís, State of Maranhão. The  UFO was seen by the pilots of the VSP4198 from Teresina to São Luís and TAM from Fortaleza to São Luís. Also to the report of COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], the witness stated:

“The object with very high speed, similar to a rocket, left a white trail. Also seen by pilots of VSP4198 from Teresina to São Luís and [another airline flight] TAM from Fortaleza to São Luís. The TWR-SL operator informed that in Macapá the same object was also seen. “

JULY 22nd, 2001. Time: 14h20 pm. Duration: 8 minutes. In the city of São José dos Pinhais, metropolitan region of Curitiba, State of Paraná, five (5) witnesses spotted a black cigar-shaped UFO about 8 meters long. The UFO moved slowly at an altitude of 1,000 meters, and moved towards the Northeast. The photograph record was reported “with a common machine” [film camera?] but the photos were not made available in this file. The visibility conditions were good and there was no record of condensation trails. Also according to the report by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], the witnesses stated that the UFO was “close to São José dos Pinhais, more or less on the route of planes that come from São Paulo”.
