In the city of Gioânia, State of Goiás, two witnesses spotted an unidentified flying object, the “size of 2 stars” in the firmament, with blue color and at high speed. The UFO appeared to be at an altitude of 30km and moving from East to West. According to the witnesses’ report, the sighting took place under favorable visibility conditions. The COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] report provides even more details given by the witness: “He cannot identify the shape because it looked like a car headlight in his direction (without a defined shape). Altitude taken as a reference [is] the flight altitude of aircrafts he usually observes (Approximately 3 times the flight altitude of a Boeing).

NOV 13th, 2001. Time: 10:20 pm. Duration: 5 minutes. In the city of Estirão do Equador, State of Amazonas, in an open place, above the trees, about 150 people spotted an unidentified flying object with a “round shape, tapering at the end”, green color, and speed “little faster than an airplane”. According to witnesses, the UFO was at a distance of approximately 60km and an altitude of 24,000ft. It moved from south to north and emitted a weak but continuous whistle. The sighting occurred under good weather conditions.

According to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]: the “Sergeant […] informed that when he saw the object, it was moving faster than an airplane. This reference was due to the fact that a Boeing always passes over the Estirão do Equador region. The altitude reference was also used made based on these flights that fly over the region. The direction of the displacement was from Cruzeiro do Sul to Tabatinga. Sergeant […] informed that it did not look like an airplane, nor the noise resembled an airplane. “

DEC 7th, 2001. Time: 8:30 pm. Duration: 20 minutes. In São Brás neighborhood, in Curitiba, Paraná, the witness saw a red orb at an approximate distance of 18 NM [nautical miles] – 33km, moving at low speed. The UFO appeared to be at an altitude of 5,000ft and alternated small movements with stops in its South/Southeast trajectory. Also according to the report by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], the witness is a former student and member of the Aeroclube School of Aviation. The sighting was carried out under good visibility conditions.

JAN 6th, 2002. Time: 00h00. Duration: 10 minutes. A witness residing in the Centro Sul neighboorhood of Cuiabá, State of Mato Grosso, spotted an unidentified flying object, oval-shaped, about 50 meters in size and white. The UFO alternated movements and stops. The visibility conditions at the place and time were not satisfactory. The sky was covered with clouds. When the UFO moved, it reached an estimated speed of 200 km/h in motion, according to the witness. The UFO remained at an altitude of approximately 2 km, with a distance of 4km from the observer. In the COMDABRA’s report [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] the witness also informs that, for him, “the sight of the referred object was occasional, as he was curious about the sight”, and only after the observer confirmed “it was not an optical effect “, he said he “decided to registerthrough my amateur camera. I took 04 photos, but only 02 confirmed the vision.”

JAN 24th, 2002. Time: 9:35 pm. Duration: “constant”. In Gama Sul, in the city of Brasília, Federal District, ten people spotted an unidentified flying object in the shape of a red star. The UFO remained stationary and had a “dot” aspect from a distance, but when it moved it made zigzag movements. The witness claimed to have recorded the sighting in photos, but these records were not made available with the present file. The report also informs that the conditions of visibility during the event were described as good and that there were no reports of condensation trails.

FEB 18th, 2002. Time: 11:07 pm. Duration: 1 minute. In the Rio Branco neighborhood, Porto Alegre, State of Rio Grande do Sul, a witness spotted 6 (six) unidentified flying objects, with a rectangular shape and yellow color, at a speed that was “much higher than an airplane’s”. The UFOs were at an estimated distance of 5km from where the witnesses observed it and it was at an altitude of approximately 12,000ft, flying from South to North. The UFO sighting was carried out under satisfactory visibility conditions from the observation site. There was no record in photos, videos, or reports of condensation trails of the sighted object.

MARCH 12th, 2002. Time: 16h50 pm. Duration: 2 min and 30s. A witness residing in Bairro Setor Park Anhanguera, in the city of Goiânia, State of Goiás, spotted an unidentified triangular flying object of a dark opaque color, with a size equivalent to a “standard lot”, approximately 10m x 30m. According to the report, the UFO stood still, hovering just 60 meters away above the witness, and when it moved it made sudden movements. The witness also reported that he studies UFOs on his own. In the report by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]: “The witness declared that he was quite astonished during the moments after the observation of the phenomenon. He said he was still not willing to provide information to others except the Air Force.”

APRIL 1st, 2002. Time: 15h15pm. Duration: 10 minutes. When an airline pilot and another witness were about 110NM [nautical miles] – 203.7 km – from the International Airport of Foz do Iguaçu, State of Paraná, at an altitude of 9,000ft, they saw a round gray unidentified flying object. According to the witnesses the UFO was static at an altitude of 8,000ft, and approximately 30NM – 55.4 km – away from the plane. Even under non-ideal conditions of visibility and operating by IFR (Instrument Flight Rules), the pilot could specify the “11 o’clock” position of the object in relation to his plane, and he could also witness the vertical trajectory of the UFO, rising in altitude until it disappeared.

Also according to the pilot’s report to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]: “The observation of the UFO was made during the flight. Upon landing, the commander called COPM2. The flight was of the PT-LIS. “

JUNE 16th, 2002. Time: 6:30 pm. Duration: 20 minutes. In Alto da XV district, city of Curitiba, State of Parana, a witness saw three (3) unidentified flying objects shaped like bright blue stars. The UFOs, according to the witness’ report, were stationary in a region south of the city center of Curitiba. The sighting of the two UFOs was carried out under conditions of visibility described as “good” from the center of the city. There were no records of trails or signs of condensation left in the displacement of the sighted objects.

In the Batel neighborhood of Curitiba, State of Paraná, a university professor, using binoculars, spotted an unidentified red star-shaped flying object, moving in circles, flying at an altitude of approximately 5,000ft and heading West from the East. The sighting of the unidentified flying object was carried out under conditions of visibility described as “good”.
