JAN 15th, 1998. Time: 00h40 am. Duration: 5 minutes. In Brasília, Distrito Federal, an unidentified flying object with the “size of an airplane” was spotted by six people on a clear night. According to the witnesses, the big UFO was round, shiny and remained “stopped” most of the time at an altitude of 500 meters. And when he moved, he did it at a “slow speed” towards the North in a straight line. The witness who reported to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] emphasized how “blinding” the UFO light was.

FEB 10th, 1998. Time: 9:00 pm. Duration: 15 minutes. Under a partially cloudy sky, in the neighborhood of Água Verde, in Curitiba, State of Paraná, three people observed a round red UFO similar to a star. According to witnesses, the unidentified flying object was at low speed, but at a “very high” altitude on its North/South trajectory. They couldn’t inform the approximate altitude of the object they sighted.

MARCH 1st, 1998. Time: 7h30 am. Duration: 1 hour. Seven people in the Tarumã region, Curitiba, State of Paraná, observed for one hour an unidentified flying object with a “round shape and two lateral lumps”. According to one of the witnesses who reported to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], the UFO was zigzagging and it was about the size of a Boeing 737, with blue, green and yellow colors. The same person who contacted the Air Force also reported that the: “Object stopped for about an hour; at one point two lights were shaped like a triangle with a great flash. There was alternation of colors; and its movements were fast in zigzag. “

MARCH 6th, 1998. Time: 6h10 am. In the Água Verde neighborhood, in Curitiba, State of Paraná, four people spotted an unidentified flying object that remained “practically stopped” during the entire time it was observed. The UFO was white and had the appearance of a “dot”. According to the four witnesses, the object was positioned in the East and it was seen moving West. According to the witnesses’ report, the sky was clear when the sighting happened. The report made by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], also contains the following information: “The object was observed by the building’s doorman and by 2 more neighbors who passed by at the time. The sighting was still ongoing during the reception of this data.”

APRIL 12th, 1998. Time: 00:20. Duration: 45 minutes. From his residence in Brasília, Federal District, an aircraft pilot spotted with binoculars, for forty-five minutes, two unidentified flying objects. The UFOs had the appearance of stars, but one of the objects was moving at high speed. The two UFOs were multicolored, with predominance of red, green, blue and yellow. One of the objects was seen in the Southwest and the other one in the West. At the end of the sighting, according to the witness, one of them headed Northwest.

The COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] report contains the following additional information: “2 (two) objects were spotted, The first, standing at azimuth 240°. A second initially standing at azimuth 270°, then moving on course 300° until it disappeared. The objects [were] sighted for 45 minutes. Several people present. “

APRIL 12th, 1998. Time: 9:40 pm. Duration: 60 minutes. On a night of good visibility and clear sky, two people in the Asa Norte region, in Brasília, Federal District, spotted an unidentified flying object with a round shape and white color. The UFO remained stationary during the sixty minutes it was observed and, according to witnesses, the object was positioned “close to the Orion’s Belt” and gave the impression of having the size of “a football” compared to the observable aspect of the stars of the firmament, that is, it was positioned close to an altitude of 10,000 feet. Also according to the witnesses, the UFO “changed the tonality” of its color. There were no records of observed condensation trails.

APRIL 30th, 1998. Time: 06h15 am. Duration: 30 seconds. A resident of the Interlagos region, in the city of São Paulo, SP, spotted two unidentified flying objects and managed to take photographs of them. According to the witness, the two UFOs were stationary, and were small, oval and white. The objects appeared to be “bigger than stars” from the perspective of those who observe them in the sky. The difference, besides the size, was the clear condensation trails left by it when it moved. The photographs taken by the witness were not made available in this file.

MAY 4th, 1998. Time: 22h40. Duration: 15 minutes. In a ranch 4 km from Brasilia, Distrito Federal, two people observed an unidentified flying object, “the size of a Boeing 737”, with a round shape and blue color. The large UFO was flying slow and, according to the witnesses, at an altitude of about 1,000 meters. The unknown object was 5km away from them and they noticed that the object, when moving, left clear trails of light, similar to a “tail”. The sighting took place in good conditions of visibility and under a clear sky, according to the observers’ report. No photographs of the event were taken.

MAY 24th, 1998. Time: 00h00. Duration: 01m25s. In Goiânia, State of Goiás, five people observed three large round UFOs. According to the witnesses, the unidentified flying objects were blue and luminous, but sometimes changed colors. The three objects flew “very fast” and performed circular and triangular movements, keeping about 800m of distance from each other. The five witnesses claimed that UFOs were making a loud and deep “whistle” like noise. The three objects were seen going in the West direction when performing circular movements.

The COMDABRA’s report [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] also informs that:

“1) The observer was very enthusiastic and guaranteed that it was not a spotlight.
2) The APP-AN [Approach Control of Anápolis Air Base-GO] operator reported that in the sector in which the objects were seen, three plots appeared on the terminal’s radar.”

JUNE 2nd, 1998. Time: 12h03. Duration: 10 minutes. In the Park Way neighborhood, in Brasília, Distrito Federal, one person spotted an unidentified flying object with a round shape and white color, moving approximately at a “plane’s altitude”. According to the witness, the UFO, which had the appearance of a “white dot”, was flying fast from the South towards the North. The witness observed the UFO with the naked eye and under a clear sky, with good visibility.
