JUNE 5th, 1998. Time: 23h15 pm. Duration: 2 hours. When they were between kilometers 17 and 19 of highway BR040, near Brasília, Distrito Federal, six people in a car noticed that they were being followed by three triangular gray UFOs, about 700 meters away. The unidentified flying objects emitted green and red lights and started to follow the car’s speed of approximately 100km/h. According to the witnesses, the objects were about 3 meters long and were at an altitude of 5 meters in relation to the ground, keeping an 8-meter distance from each other.

The following complementary observations were made in the COMDABRA’s report [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] informing the sighting details: “The vehicle stopped and the objects stopped next to the vehicle. According to the declarant, the objects still remained close to her residence. This at the time of this report (01: 31z)” i.e. This report was communicated to COMDABRA at the same time the sighting was happening.

JUNE 12th, 1998. Time: 22h04 pm. Duration: 15 minutes. In the Água Verde neighborhood, in Curitiba, State of Paraná, under a clear and cloudless sky, with good visibility, two people observed an unidentified flying object with a round shape and silver and red colors, hovering south of their position. The UFO had the appearance of a “ping-pong ball” and remained stationary at an altitude of approximately 10,000m, making circular moves. There were no reports of condensation trails, nor were photographs of the sighting taken.

JUNE 15th, 1998. Time: 07h21 am. Duration: 1 hour. During a flight from Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, to Rio de Janeiro, RJ, as their plane flew over the region between the cities of Varginha and São Tomé das Letras, both in Minas Gerais, the pilot and fourteen people on board spotted an unidentified flying object, with a round and flat (discoidal) shape. The unknown object, according to the report, was 30NM [nautical miles] away and at an altitude below 2,000ft. The UFO, which seemed to be “bigger than a star” when observed in the firmament, went towards the East, without leaving trails of condensation. One of the passengers filmed the sighting, but the video was not made available in this case file.

JUN 22nd, 1998. Time: 00h48 am. Duration: 30 seconds. In the Boa Viagem neighborhood in Recife, State of Pernambuco, three people observed an unidentified flying object in the form of a multicolored conical necklace, resembling a star at an altitude of 2,500m. According to the report, the UFO remained stationary and spinning around itself when it was observed.

In addition to what was said, the following observations were made in the COMDABRA’s report [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]: “As mentioned above, the observer likes to observe the sky and he informed that he never saw this type of object. He reported [to us] what happened during the same” [sighting- as it was happening].

** JUNE 30th, 1998. Time: 8:20 pm – Date and time of the communication of the sighting made to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command].

In the Fazendinha neighborhood in Curitiba, State of Paraná, ten (10) people spotted (15) unidentified flying objects amid a rain that fell in the region during the event. The 15 UFOs were round in shape, with red and orange colors and in different sizes, some large and others small. According to the witnesses, the objects flew at an altitude of 10,000ft, at high speed and zigzagged, before going South. Photographs were taken but were not made available.

AUG 29th, 1998. Time: 20h30 pm. Duration:  not determined. In the city of Curitiba, State of Paraná, a person residing in the Xaxim neighborhood spotted an unidentified flying object in an elongated shape and gray color. The witness was not able to estimate the altitude or the speed of the UFO, which, according to her report, headed for the North direction coming from the South. The sighting was carried out on a clear night with good visibility, with no markings or trails of condensation left on the object’s trajectory.

SEPT 5th, 1998. Time: 9:50 pm. Duration: 1 hour. In Santo Antônio de Lisboa, a city in the state of Santa Catarina, four people reported a close encounter with eight (8) white spheres that followed their car flying in “circular formation”. The 8 UFOs had three feet in diameter each, and were only 50 meters away from the four witnesses. They managed to take photographs but the photos were not made available with this file.

AUG 11, 1998. Time: 18h00 pm. Duration: 01h30m. In the Serra region, near the Sítio Amarelinho and Sítio João Dias, in the city of Pilõezinhos, State of Paraíba, an unidentified flying object with white color and cylindrical shape, moved at high speed at about 30 meters in altitude. According to the witnesses’ reports of the sighting, in a certain moment the UFO was only 20 meters away from them. There were rumors of abduction attempt in the nearby communities.

Obs .: * in the report of COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], due to the wear conditions of the copy made available in the file of this case, some words from the “Observations” section of the report are unreadable, however, in general, it’s possible to have an idea of some details of the phenomenon which, from what can be read, was not an  isolated event:

“[…] the three observers and […] several other members from places close to the sites reported such apparitions and […] even reporting […]actions of […] capture.”

NOV 21st, 1998. Time: 09h20 pm. Duration: 30 seconds. In Medianeira, a district of Santa Maria, State of Rio Grande do Sul, five people observed two small UFOs only 60m away from them. The two unidentified flying objects were round with green, red and yellow colors. The UFOs were like orbs with the size of a golf ball. According to the witnesses, the objects moved in a straight line, stopped at a distance of sixty meters from where the five people were, and then went south. The COMDABRA’s [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] report also informs that : “Only one object was initially observed, and after a while, the second appeared away from the first and approached the other.”

DEC 12th, 1998. Time: 09h00 pm. Duration: 30 minutes. In Curitiba, State of Paraná, six (6) people spotted four (4) unidentified flying objects in the Boqueirão neighborhood. According to the witnesses, there were 4 round UFOs: 3 were white and 1 was red. The four objects had the appearance of stars being observed in the firmament and flew slowly. At the beginning of the sighting, the UFOs were 1 km close to the observers, then they moved further away. At first, the objects remained stationary, then they began to perform circular movements and, in the end, they all moved like “shooting stars”, going from North to West.

Other observations in the  COMDABRA’s [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] report detail the sighting made by the seven witnesses:

“First the red light appeared. It stood still for 5 to 10 minutes, and then it was slowly moving away. Meanwhile, a white light appeared circling the red light for 10 to 15 minutes. The white light moved away to the West. The red light then continued and the other two white lights appeared, like a falling star, moving in a straight line, passing close to the red light. The white lights went up and then disappeared. The red light continued for some time and gradually disappeared. “
