JULY 29th, 1999. Time: 23h40 pm. Duration: 3 minutes. During a flight from Palmas, State of Tocantins, to Brasília, Distrito Federal – just above the region between the cities of Porto Nacional [Tocantins] and Minaçu [Goiás] – a pilot and a co-pilot spotted a small round multicolored UFO [“red, orange and white”], the size of “an orange” moving away and approaching the side of the aircraft and at the same altitude of 18,000ft. Also according to the observations made in the report to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], one of the witnesses stated that:

“The object appeared on the right side of the aircraft, which was flying from Palmas to Brasília, above FL180 and remained in that position for approximately three minutes; always alternating between the colors red, green and white. The phenomenon was also observed by the second pilot.”

AUG 1st, 1999. Time: 11h00 pm. Duration: 3 minutes. In the Champagnat neighborhood, in Curitiba, State of Paraná, four people spotted an unidentified flying object with the shape of a round orange light, on a clear night of good visibility. From the perspective of the four witnesses, the UFO, from a distance, was observed with a silhouette “bigger than [a] star” seen in the firmament. The object moved at a fast speed, going from North to South and leaving light colored condensation trails.

AUG 26th, 1999. Time: 2:00 am. Duration: 20 seconds. Between SQN 209 and 208 in the city of Brasilia, Distrito Federal, three witnesses spotted a large round white UFO, at approximately the same flight altitude of the plane in that region. The unknown object moved in circles and flew from North to South. The UFO was sighted under a cloudy sky with visibility considered “good” according to the witness. To COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]: “The observer made herself available for further clarification.”

AUG 26th, 1999. Time: 01h00 am. Duration: 30 seconds. In Brasília, Distrito Federal, two witnesses spotted two large round UFOs emitting dull fluorescent lights. The two unidentified flying objects were large and flew at the altitude “of an airplane”, and “making circles in relation to a point above the TV Tower”. Also according to the witnesses, the UFOs were observed alternately moving “from North to South and from South to North”. The event was observed under a cloudy sky in the region where it took place, with no films made or photographs taken. To the report of COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], one of the witnesses also made the following statements: “The two lights that move in circles, sometimes move apart, sometimes come closer. The observer does not believe they are UFOs”.

SEPT 25, 1999. Time: 1:45 am. Duration: 3-5 minutes. A pilot, a co-pilot and a flight attendant on flight TAM 809, en route from Fortaleza to São Paulo, at an altitude of 35,000ft, spotted 3 triangular UFOs, emitting a clear light at about 211NM [nautical miles] from SCR [Santa Cruz Air Base, in Rio de Janeiro-RJ] in bow 225. The unidentified objects were at an altitude higher than the TAM plane, about 70,000ft, and traveling “approximately 200° course”, at a speed described by witnesses as “faster than TAM 809”. Visibility conditions during sighting were described as “great, clear sky, moon, good ground visibility”.

To the report by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], the flight attendant also made the following statements: “Objects in a somewhat inflated diamond formation. (Concerned about possible leakage to the press)”

SEPT 25th, 1999. Time: 01h00am. Duration: 3 minutes. When he was 20NM [nautical miles] from the city of Araraquara, State of São Paulo, and at 35,000ft altitude with an F100 fighter, a pilot spotted three triangular UFOs flying in line, at an altitude higher than that of the fighter and “amazingly fast”. The unidentified objects were larger than the F100 and were positioned according to it. UFOs emitted an extremely white and bright light and left a yellow trail like a “thread of fire” before disappearing.

Also according to the observations of the witnesses who performed the sighting reported to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]:

“The traffic was spotted at one o’clock in relation to the ANV’s bow [200 *]. With an “amazing” speed, it started moving at eleven o’clock. At that moment, according to the pilot, several alarms sounded on the plane. After that, the pilot called the ACC BSB [Air Control Center of Brasilia] to inform the situation, as soon as the message started, the three traffic disappeared with an “amazing speed” leaving a thin trail of fire on the horizon.

OCT 10th, 1999. Time: 00h30. Duration: 4 seconds. Three people in the Batel neighborhood in Curitiba, State of Paraná, spotted an unidentified flying object shaped like a cigar with 4 meters in size. According to witnesses, the UFO flew at a low altitude, 50m, and its color oscillated between gray and fluorescent green. The object was approximately 1km away from the observers, but close enough for them to perceive a vibration from the UFO. Soon after being noticed at low speed, the object proceeded very fast towards the South.

In the city of Medianeiras, State of Paraná, three people spotted an unidentified flying object with indefinite shape and gray color at an altitude of 35,000ft. The UFO, according to the witnesses, left traces of golden smoke and was seen heading west. The sighting took place under good conditions of visibility without photographs taken by the observers.

OCT 14th, 1999. Time: 01:40pm. In Cabo de Santo Agostinho, State of Pernambuco, a witness spotted a shiny metallic UFO with a round shape, similar to the “new moon”. According to the witness, the unknown object was “very large” in size and flew horizontally at high speed [“jets speed”] going from the Southeast towards the ocean. Also according to the sighting reported to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command], the witness stated: “It could be an object in the form of a plate maneuvering (as if standing on its side).”

NOV 18th, 1999. Time: 04h30 am. Duration: 40 minutes. Using binoculars, three people in Pelotas observed a gigantic round white and yellow UFO that appeared suddenly coming at a very high speed and then stopped and hovered for 40 minutes until it moved from South to North at an altitude of 4,000m and about 2 km away from the observers. Additional observations regarding the UFO sighting by the witness to the COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] detail the features of the sighted object:

“The object was huge (the size of a small football stadium) and moved at a very high speed, while emitting a white light with yellow tones.

It came from the south quadrant (in relation to the observer) and immediately stopped at a point northeast of the observer. There it stayed for approximately 40 minutes and, from time to time, two smaller lights (white or yellow) came out and went to the ground.

With the sunlight, according to the rapporteur, the huge object became invisible and disappeared.

The rapporteur informed that he filmed the object for a long time and that his son was afraid.

He also said that during the time the object was hovering, an aircraft came from the northwest direction, went southeast passing under the object. “
