JUNE 17, 2015. At 8h52pm, a pilot with an aircraft 129 km from Recife, capital of Pernambuco, was alerted by the TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) of his plane that an object was dangerously close to his aircraft moving back and forth. According to the pilot’s descriptions, the visibility and flight conditions were “CAVOK” (Ceiling and Visibility Okay). The report wrote by the COMDABRA’s representative [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] brings the following observations made by the pilot: “Hotel traffic [a military codename for UFO] viewed only at TCAS 2,500 feet below the observer. He needed to perform evasive maneuver. [He] saw in the TCAS sudden movements going from right to left repeatedly; after having overtaken the Traffic [UFO], he noticed [that] the “UFO” abruptly increased its speed, again overtaking him, and disappeared from the equipment. The contact took place in RDL311 at 70NM from REC [Recife- PE Airport].
