APRIL 25th, 2004. Time: 9:10 pm. Duration: 20 minutes. An unidentified flying object was spotted by five air traffic operators between the Aerodrome of Flores, Manaus, and the Manaus Air Base, Amazonas, under good visibility conditions. The UFO was white while moving and red when stopped. It was about the size of a helicopter, and moved vertically at an estimated speed of “500ft / min” [914km/h] at an altitude of 4,500ft. The report by COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] also informs that the operator of APP-MN [Manaus Approach Control], said that there was no visualization by the terminal’s radar, but reported an equipment failure “30 minutes before the sighting, there was a power failure (the Rwy 1 signpost was deleted)”
