SEPT 8th, 1990. Time: 19:08. Duration: 110 minutes. As they were flying over the region of Porto Nacional, State of Tocantins, a pilot and a co-pilot in the aircraft prefix PT-LFX spotted with the naked eye and in a clear sky, an unidentified flying object making horizontal and vertical trajectories, ascending “in a uniform manner”. According to the description, the unknown object was round, small and “very luminous; predominantly red and orange”, and had a “very high” speed. Also according to the pilot, the UFO moved “from W to E, crossed the 12 o’clock hours observed. Crossing the trajectory of the PT-LFX perpendicularly”. The UFO was at an estimated distance of 100NM from the aircraft flying on FL-210 [21,000ft of altitude]. Complementary data from COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command]: “At the heart of the observation, he thought it was a different object due to the diffusion of colors. After a long observation, the crew member believes that it is a star”.
