A pilot and an air traffic controller observed a UFO near the airport in GOIÂNIA-GO [1984]

OCT 21st, 1984. Time: 20:35. Duration: not determined. A military working at the Control Tower at Gioânia Airport reported to CINDACTA that the VASP pilot on flight VP 253 had informed that at 20:22, when he was making a final approach to land in Goiânia, he observed “a strong white light”. According to the operator, he himself saw the same strong white light with the use of binoculars and also with the naked eye. At that the unidentified flying object was about 10NM [nautical miles] from Goiânia Airport. The operator also stated that the light was “continuous, with a few flashes and that it lost its intensity until it disappeared.

Complementary data:

“The operator even told us that there was no [aircraft] traffic in that position, and that due to the knowledge of the area there was no obstacle on the ground that could radiate such light. On our radar, nothing was observed. The operator was asked to continue the observation if there was any new appearance. APP-AN [Anápolis Approach Control] detected nothing. “
