MARCH 21st, 1996. Time: 20h04. Duration: 40 minutes. A round UFO with white lights and about 20 meters in size was spotted flying fast in the city of Cachoeirinha, State of Rio Grande do Sul. According to the 5 people who observed the unknown object, it was at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters heading North, then making a curve around itself. The sighting was carried out by the naked eye and in a clear sky. The witness who reported the case to COMDABRA [Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command] said it was “Impressive! It was the first time he saw it”.

MARCH 21st, 1996. Time: 01h30 am. Duration: 90 minutes. In the region of Taquara, State of Rio Grande do Sul, three people spotted an unidentified flying object in the shape of a bright star, in red and green colors. According to the witnesses’ report, the UFO flew at “very slow” speed, following a straight path, when it was observed “in the opposite direction from the East”, that is, in the West direction. The witnesses saw the UFO with the naked eye and in a clear sky, and they were unable to estimate the altitude of the unknown object.

MARCH 21st, 1996. Time: at night. Duration: 45 minutes. A man and his daughter were traveling at night through the region of Tapera, State of Rio Grande do Sul, when they observed an unidentified flying object with an oval shape and varied colors “varying its trajectory and altitude in its displacement. According to the witness, the UFO had the appearance of “a car headlight” and was flying at 60km/h, at a low altitude of about 100 meters from the ground. The witness stated that they were about 200 meters away from the UFO, and observed it for 45 minutes with the naked eye on a clear night. He also claimed to have made a “film of excellent quality” that was not made available in this archive.

MARCH 21st, 1996. Time: 22h40. Duration: 20 minutes. When walking on the street of his house in Porto Alegre, State of Rio Grande do Sul, a man observed an unidentified flying object moving sideways at a slow speed. According to the witness, who was with two more people, the UFO was at an altitude of approximately 10km. They could tell that the object was shaped like a “small dot, varying in red, green and orange”. The sighting was done “with the naked eye”, under good conditions of visibility and without photographs taken.

MARCH 21st, 1996. Time: 19h50. Duration: 30 minutes. “Traveling by truck between the cities of Caçapava do Sul and Cachoeira do Sul” [both in the State of Rio Grande do Sul], a man watched with the naked eye, for 30 minutes, a round UFO with [something] on top and another at its bottom”. According to the report, the object was seen as being “6 to 7 times the size of a star”, having a bright yellow color varying to orange. The UFO, still according to the observer’s report, was seen flying at “very slow” speed and at about 30km of altitude, being observed in the West direction moving to the Southwest while decreasing its altitude. The sighting was performed “with the naked eye” and with “good weather”.

MARCH 23rd, 1996. Time: 17h10. Duration: 25 minutes. Four people in the city of Curitiba, State of Paraná, from the window of an apartment, spotted a UFO at about 3 km altitude, and distant from the observers horizontally about 10km. According to  the witnesses, the unidentified flying object was round, and its color “varied from white to black”. The UFO flew at “very slow” speed and remained in the eastern sector of the city. The sighting was performed “with the naked eye and a clear sky”.

MARCH 23rd, 1996. Time: 00h50 am. Duration: not determined. In São Leopoldo, State of Rio Grande do Sul, several people saw 10 unidentified flying objects “in the form of disks”, large in size and white. According to the witnesses, the UFOs moved close to each other and were only 10 meters high from the witnesses, emitting “a noise”. The sighting occurred with the naked eye and in good weather. There was information about photographs taken of the event, however, the witness said he did not know who took them.

MARCH 25th, 1996. Time: 10h15 am. Duration: 1 minute. A military man in São José dos Pinhais, State of Paraná, along with two other people, spotted an unidentified flying object, shaped like a “cigar” and with the size of a “Boeing 707”. According to the witnesses, the UFO was silver in color and initially remained stationary, “stopped, and then started [a] rapid descent until it disappeared”. The UFO was seen with the naked eye and in a clear night, about 1,000ft above the Barracks of Boqueirão.

On a clear night in Curitiba, State of Paraná, an unidentified flying object was observed by three people moving from West to North of the city with “fast speed”. According to the witnesses, the UFO was round, large, red in color and it was “quite high” and “very far” from the observers. Also according to the witness who reported the sighting, it was carried out with the naked eye and with a clear sky.
