Pilots reported engine failure and electrical breakdown as a UFO approached the aircraft [1978]

NOV 8th, 1978. Montes Claros-MG.

Translation of the report:

“Lieutenants S. and C., instructor and student respectively, during a flight with the FAB 2185 [Aircraft of the Brazilian Air Force], to RJ and landing in Galeão, heard a comment transmitted on the VHF frequency of 123.4, a conversation between two aircrafts from Nordeste [air line company] regarding of a forced landing of a [model airplane] Bandeirante of that company.

Upon landing in SBBH [Airport of Belo Horizonte] they found two classmates, disconnected from AFA [Academy of Air Force] in 1974. A pilot from Nordeste and another pilot from Líder, who spoke about the accident of the referred Bandeirante plane.

They said that the pilots had one of the engines stopped, and when starting was attempted, the other engine also stopped and the aircraft ran out of electricity; and reported a strange object flying close to the aircraft, and that such objects usually appear in the vicinity of Montes Claros. “
