April 21, 1982

“OCCURRENCES – At 23:38Z, the ACC officer informed us that SBKP [Campinas-SP Airport] had informed him that he was seeing a bright light, to the northeast of that location. Immediately I contacted SBKP via telephone. The operator, the civilian FIOR, informed me that he saw a strong light, which was moving quickly, with no identification possible. There was a primary runway on the radar in the position indicated by Campinas (AZ 030/10 MN from SBKP), but it looked more like a meteorological formation, as it was now in the East, now in the West, varying from 34KT to 80KT, remaining so several hours. July 17, 1982

“At 02:40Z, 3S O. was answered by 3S E. on extension 174 whose call asked for a plot to be checked on the radar (Brasília coverage) in the Northwest sector of Brasília, nearby. Based on this position, a certain primary chain was started, the only one in the immediate vicinity, and in possession of the open telephone line, the positions were checked: The 3S O., being at SQN 113, informed the variations of heading, altitude and speed of traffic that seconds later, I, the 3S E., compared on the radar except the altitude, which, according to him, was approximately 30,000 feet and on the radar did not contain the altimetric information. At 02: 44Z, 3S P., Technical Supervisor, was asked to make the video recording starting at 02: 52Z. October 2 and 3, 1982

November 2, 1982

Several UFOs reported by 4 cities in São Paulo in the same night [1982]

MARCH 6th, 1982. Time: 9:15 pm. A military policeman from the city of Marília, State of São Paulo, communicated via telegram to CINDACTA that at 9:15 pm on March 6, 1982 that unidentified flying objects had been observed in the cities of Presidente Prudente, Regente Feijó, Rancharia, and finally in the city of Marília, all in São Paulo state. According to the reporting witness, the UFOs moved quickly, emitting beams of light, without making any noise. A round UFO was spotted at Anápolis-GO Air Base by its military personnel [1982]

Report issued on April 19, 1982, by the Sixth Regional Air Command. Translation below:

“On March 23, 1982, at about 11:00 am, when the P-103 aircraft was carrying out evolutions on the ANÁPOLIS AIRBASE aerodrome, a UFO was observed by several military personnel of that OM.

The object, which could be seen with the naked eye, had a circular shape and was white in color, tending to silver. Through binoculars its shape was the same, but brighter, and the color was sometimes reddish. It was initially seen almost vertically from the Aerodrome, moving in an estimated 280 degrees. The altitude has not been determined. Although the CINDACTA Military Operations Center (COpM) has not been able to reach radar, the alert aircraft that triggered a visual search to the FL 500 was triggered, without success. “

1 – Initial observation:

The object was seen on 23 Mar 82, at approximately 11:00 am, at the time when an F-103 aircraft was performing “loops” over the aerodrome (thus marking Cap Av ELIZEU’s 1,000 hours of fighter flights). The acrobatics of the aircraft drew everyone’s attention upwards.

2 – Description of the object:

With the naked eye (it was possible to see it that way), the object had a circular (apparently spherical) shape, white in color, tending to silver. Seen with binoculars, the shape was the same, but brighter, sometimes appearing red, with a tendency to gold.

3 – Geographic position:

It was initially seen almost over the Aerodrome (heading 300 degrees, approximately 10 miles). It moved subtly, having been perceived up to 270 °. Quite high, it was not possible to estimate the height.

4 – Observers:

The curiosity of some made the majority of people at the Anápolis Air Base see the object, including the author of this document.

5 – Measures taken:

As determined by Mr. Cmt of the Anápolis Air Base, the following measures were taken:

a) Research with the SRPV-6 to find out whether or not balloons, probes, artificial satellites, etc, [were around that area]

b) Telephone contact with COPM to learn about the efficiency of radar contact. Both measures did not bring concrete results.

c) Taking advantage of the situation (it would not be otherwise) the COPM requested (certainly with the participation of CODA) the activation of the alert aircraft in order to identify the object, which was done until the FL 500, without success . Two FAB pilots reported close eye contact with a UFO in the Uberlândia-MG region [1982]

FAB Pilot 2 Report:

“At 00:45P on the 17th of June 82, we were doing the Porto Alegre / Brasília flight with VS of 420 KT. We were passing the vertical of UBERLÂNDIA at level 370 and maintaining the radial 200 degrees of Brasília.

Flying as 2P, I observed on our left side, slightly higher, a ball of light that was approaching, I warned the 1P, we darkened the nacelle to observe better and the object that initially looked like one, [and] while passing besides us, it splited itself into 6 pieces.

We called the mechanic to come to the cabin and observe it.

We were able to observe the object (s) for approximately 01 minute.

Its trajectory was more or less parallel to ours and horizontally.

It disappeared from our vision just ahead of us slightly to the left of Brasilia.

FAB Pilot 1 Report :

“At 00: 45 on 17th of June 82, during the journey from Porto Alegre to Brasília, we observed an UFO, whose phenomenon we now describe:

“Passing the vertical of Uberlândia at level 370, our HS-125 aircraft was at a speed of 420 Kt, radial 200° to Brasilia, approximately 170 miles away, when 2P suddenly called our attention to observe an object of great luminosity shifting.

The first sensation was of an aircraft on fire and then came the idea of a COMET, because the object had a huge incandescent tail and of great luminosity. There was enough time for us to darken the nacelle and call the mechanic so that the entire crew could observe.

The object was seen for the first time through the First Pilot’s DV window, at approximately high at 10-hours position, apparently FL 430. After being seen through the windshield, it began to fragment, dividing itself into six bright spots, which were fading, one by one.

The phenomenon lasted approximately 01 minute, its displacement was from southwest to northeast, more or less towards 030 degrees parallel to the horizon line.

The fact was observed by three more aircrafts flying at the same time, who informed the Brasília Center that they were observing this phenomenon and inquired about it, while the Brasília Center replied that nothing had been observed by the radars. VC Son / Cp AV.”

Several UFO sightings and radar detections 2 weeks in a row in Anápolis-GO [1982]

The following reports describe several UFO sightings and radar detections 2 weeks in a row in Anápolis-GO [1982] at the ANÁPOLIS Air Base between 28 APRIL and 16 MAY 1982.

First report: April 28, 1982. Time: 22:25.

At 22:25 on April 28, 1982, the Approach Control of Anápolis-GO, visualized “in the scope of the TA-10, several moving targets, between the radial 080/110 degrees, all with heading approximately 290 degrees”. According to the report, “due to the speed, it gave the impression of being a squadron of helicopters”, heading towards the Anápolis Air Base. A FAB plane [15 F-34] that was on a mission at that time was activated to “check what was causing the radar detection” [..] on the 235 degree radial, at 8NM from Anápolis. “Another aircraft, the JG NG “was transferred to TABA, being vectored by this Control over the radar contacts”. After “several attempts, the JG NG 2 spotted one of the targets and, when approaching, the alleged object turned off the lights, causing the loss of visual contact “. After the aircraft landed, the pilots went to see the object sighted on TABA’s radar and found” a very large target of something unidentified “.

Second report: April 29, 1982

On April 29, 1982, at 22:15, the Military Operations Center [COpM] recorded on its radar that “something” was moving within the South and Southeast sector of Anápolis, “on the 210 degree radial, at 18NM from Anápolis-GO. According to the report, the detection lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes. The TABA of Anápolis, which had not detected the first apparition, “informed that it was obtaining radar contact in its radial 270 degrees, at 15NM”. according to the report, there was a “third radar contact that was accused by TABA in its 060 degree radial, at 12NM and that the COpM also obtained.” An aircraft that performed interception training on the FL300 was asked to verify the fact, but the pilot of this one saw nothing in the indicated sector.

Third report: April 30, 1982

On April 30, 1982, at 22:47, when TABA of Anápolis reported that it was detecting a “radar contact” that was dangerously “on a collision course with FAB 2305 that was on the final approach to runway 06, at 10NM of the headboard”. Initially, the COpM radar did not detect the contact reported by Anápolis, but afterwards it obtained visualization, reporting that the unidentified flying object was “01NM south of Anápolis, heading 290 degrees, and an approximate speed of 185 km/h. To the plane the FAB 2305 was asked to inspect the informed sector, but the commander of the plane saw nothing at that initial moment, then, with the TABA of Anápolis detecting the UFO on the radar again in “another echo radar almost in the same original position as the previous echo” the FAB 2305 plane reported that the UFO was passing “side by side” with him and that “the FAB 2305 crew spotted a flashing white light” at the FAB’s 3-o’clock position, about 4NM.

Fourth report:May 5, 1982

In the same way that happened a week before, on May 5, 1982, at 22:05 the TABA of Anápolis “detected an object that moved from the radial 115 degrees, heading 270 degrees and, approximately, distance of 03 NM”. According to the report, the unidentified flying object “disappeared in the radial 250 degrees, the same bow, 13NM” away. It was reported that simultaneously “numerous other echoes [radar]” appeared in the same position and crossed in the East/West direction, with slow speed and brightness. “When crossing” the imaginary axis of runway 06, in such a way that at least 03 were detected “by another” PAR radar “and flying at an altitude of about 5,700 feet. The COpM then reported that it had detected radar contacts with similar position, altitude and speed indicators. A pilot of the FAB F-103 plane in flight close to the region , it was requested to find out, in the sectors of radar detections, if there were “highways, railways or hills in these sectors.” The pilot informed that “about 10NM from Anápolis that there are high voltage wires and hills installed” in the place.

In Campinas-SP, an air traffic controller reported a UFO sighting [1983]

December 27th, 1983. Time: 00:57. Duration: not determined. An operator from the Control Tower at the Campinas Airport, in the State of São Paulo, reported that he received “many phone calls about an unidentified object in his North / Northeast sector”. The witness stated that he had seen some lights, but that he was unable to estimate what they were, but obtained information that the UFO was about 13NM [nautical miles] from Campinas. Complementary Data: “At 04:08 the OI requested video recording, which was done from 0410 to 0420. A meteorological observation letter was requested and the operator informed that it was ‘Nil’. An air traffic controller reported the sighting of a UFO in Vitória-ES [1984]

Translation below:

At approximately 21:59 (local time), I spotted a flying object in the South / North direction, flying across the continent. The body was slightly flattened and rectangular, almost oval and surrounded by strong green lighting. The light was strong around the body and left a small but considerable luminous tail. It was all green.

The speed with which it was moving in the South / North direction from the radial 260, when I saw it, approximately, was amazing. It disappeared on the horizon in less than 10 (ten) seconds. The altitude I suppose it flew would be in the range of 1,500 meters to 2,000 meters, if not higher. Several people also spotted in the City when the object passed over the TV Tower / Airport and later called this Control Tower.

At the moment I contacted the ACC Brasília, which was hard to answer my call for an interception by Radar. When the ACC BS looked at the area he said that there was nothing to report. It was a lightning shift and the object had its own means of propulsion, moving along a straight path and at a constant altitude. It was a real spectacle. Great lighting around the body and visible tail. No sound of turbines or vibration was observed, although the body moved at a relatively low altitude. The body was all light. A cigar-shaped metallic UFO was observed in Brasília-DF [1984]

April 7th, 1984. Time: 13:20. Duration: 10 minutes. A resident of Brasilia, Distrito Federal, reported seeing an unidentified flying object, with his wife and children, in the direction of the Central Bank in Brasilia, about 4 km away from the observer. According to the witness, the UFO was approximately 500 meters from the ground. The UFO had a cylindrical shape, with concave ends (finished with half spheres) and identical. The UFO’ was 100 meters wide, with tis cylinder having 20 meters in diameter, its color was dark, matte aluminum, and its speed was the same as that of a jet. The unknown object did not emit sound or leave a trail of displacement. Complementary data: according to the witness, to estimate the speed of the UFO, he observed “an aircraft taking off” in the vicinity and this “served as a basis to estimate the speed and size of the object”. When the object went up, “its color got darker”.

Radars in Brasília-DF and people in Goiânia-GO reported UFOs [1984]

A pilot and an air traffic controller observed a UFO near the airport in GOIÂNIA-GO [1984]

OCT 21st, 1984. Time: 20:35. Duration: not determined.
