EZALDIVAR HUMBERTO BORGHI testimonial summary:
In August 1972, on a Saturday night when he was returning from the city of Ubirajara-SP to the city of Galia-SP, at around 9:30 pm, Mr. Borghi was driving his car along the Intermunicipal Road Ubirajara-Galia, near the Figueirinha Farm about 2 km from the bridge over Ribeirão Vermelho, when it “saw a light on the road”. Mr. Borghi was surprised by the fact that, according to him, there was no traffic on the site, mainly because it was a little rainy and it was “very dark” night. He decided to stop the car, and leave the engine running. After he looked everywhere he saw “an object of circular shape appear on the road” with an apparent diameter of 60 cm at that distance, emitting a “light that is not very intense, but a little opaque, orange-red in color.
The following Wednesday, again in Ubirajara-SP, Borghi commented on the fact with fellow teachers and they did not give much attention to his story.
A month after the sighting on the same road at night, passing by the same spot near the Ribeirão Vermelho bridge in Galia-SP, Borghi saw it again, on his right, but this time he did not pay attention to the fact, nor did he stop to verify, as the object remained there this time only for a few moments.
Borghi reported that, on another occasion, taking the same route, he saw the phenomenon again. This time, as he knew there was one more car with other teachers coming right after him, on the same road, he decided to wait for their car, with Professor Lourdes with three other people with her.
Borghi parked his car and stood outside “seeing the ball of light” and waiting for the car with his colleagues to approach. They arrived, got out of the car and witnessed the phenomenon with him.
On this day, the object was with the most intense light and with the largest diameter, making movements more slowly horizontally and vertically, and “producing flashes”.
The object was about 3,000 meters away. Next to this object, another one appeared, with a smaller diameter, moving towards the large object and merging with it. Then the larger object disappeared too.
Mr. Borghi reported that “the lights are not constant, but appear and disappear in a few moments”.
After witnessing the phenomenon, Professor Lourdes told her colleagues in the city of Ubirajara-SP that the fact had really happened, confirming Borghi’s previous statements.
On October 28, 1972, almost two months after the first sighting, when Borghi was making the same path, and when he was 100 meters from the same bridge over Ribeirão Vermelho, he saw the object, this time closer than the other times before and at a height of 20 meters from the ground. This time the UFO had “a larger diameter, approximately 1.5 m and a much more intense light, with the same orange-red color, completely brightening the bridge, because its focus was from top to bottom”.
According to Borghi, the object came to be “1 meter from the bridge”, making “horizontal movements”. The witness states that he left his car’s engine and lights on and that the UFO’s lights were even brighter and brighter than those of the car. There was no interference or interruption in the engine or in the car lights.
At a certain point, Borghi stated that the UFO did seem to go in his direction, which left him “terrified” and made him maneuver the car and quickly return to Ubirajara-SP.
In the days that followed, more people from the city of Ubirajara found out and looked for the spot on the road to also try to see the phenomenon. A city priest said he saw the same light as Borghi, confirming his story.
One of Borghi’s fellow teachers at school, Mr. Durval, who still doubted the UFO story on the Ubirajara-Galia Road, was convinced by Mr. Borghi to go see it with him after work to the place so that Durval could also see the phenomenon too.
They did so and after 20 minutes waiting for the light to show up, the UFO appeared about 60 meters from them, with the same characteristics as always. Mr. Durval, this time, declared: “It is true!”.
Mr. Durval had the ‘idea’ to take a gun and point it the object, but at the same time the UFO got away from them. Then, the two teachers continued with the car with its headlights off, going slowly along the road and “following the object from a distance”.
At that moment, a red Ford Corcel vehicle, which Borghi recognized as Professor Catarina’s car, stopped over the bridge. The UFO then emitted a spotlight on the car and then an intense light clearing the entire region of the bridge, and disappeared moments later. Borghi and Durval drove to the bridge and met Father James and Professor Catarina who “claimed that they had seen nothing at that time”.
The light object appeared next “on the horizon, on the side of Fazenda Paraíso” and “this time everyone saw it”, turning on and off in different places and moving with fast speed.
CATARINA CARVALHO TEIXEIRA testimonial summary:
Upon hearing comments from Professor Borghi and others about the sightings of an object of light on the Intermunicipal Road Ubirajara-Galia, Professor Catarina Teixeira initially did not take the fact very seriously.
One night, she and another colleague, Lourdes, were going home and, when they arrived near the Ribeirão Vermelho bridge, they noticed a light that was about 6 meters from the bridge. Catarina was terrified with the object, showing it to her colleague.
Catarina tried to maneuver her car, but as the place was narrow, she couldn’t. She then looked at the object and saw that it was an unidentified flying object, never seen by her before.
Fearful, Catarina finally managed to make the maneuver with the car and return to Ubirajara, where she spoke with the School Director and Borghi. At that moment, these two decided to go see the phenomenon with them.
Catarina stated that when everyone arrived, in two cars, at the sighting place, the UFO was already gone. They waited for about 15 minutes and decided to leave.
According to Professor Catarina, on the way back, she “noticed that the same object was following her car, because besides her car and the Professor Borghi’s car behind, there was another one [between them] as she was able to notice in the rearview mirror.” She said that she suddenly noticed that the “third car” was no longer behind her. She asked Borghi “where did that vehicle come from?”, and he replied that he had not seen any vehicle”.
Catarina then stated that “the light from the third vehicle was very strong, out of the ordinary” and that this made her even more terrified. This was the first time that professor Catarina saw this type of phenomenon.
