A ‘huge’ shape-shifting cloud-like UFO was spotted in Belo Horizonte-MG [1974]

APRIL 7th, 1974. Time: 18:10. Duration: 3 to 5 minutes. In Carlos Prates, region of Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais.

TRANSLATION

“Observers:

Group 1: M.M. and 4 children
Group 2: 9 people of G.L.’s family

Researchers who interviewed the witnesses: Húlvio Brant (CICOANI) and Pierre Doransart, from the group “Lumière dans la Nuit”, from Paris-France.

1) Telephone interview:

M.M .: His wife arrived at the kitchen door to observe the sky in the direction of BR-135 and called him afterwards. Upon arriving he had the impression of seeing a moving cloud, but soon he noticed something strange. He checked his watch at 18:10 hs. He saw a shapless cloud, without light, darker than the nearby rain clouds. Looking like a giant bird, with swallow-like movements: to the left, to the right, rising, falling within a narrow angle. During the evolution, only one figure was seen, until, in a brief stop, the object presented the shape of a bowl or a deep dish, seen from the side, with the mouth upwards.

After calling the neighbors he continued to observe, but he did not see how the object disappeared, because he lost sight of it. The hypothesis of an airplane was excluded due to the sudden movements and the object’s stops.

The observation was made at Araruama Street, in the Carlos Prates neighborhood. In the final part of the observation he noticed that the object was in the direction of the 12th Infantry Regiment. He clearly marked the angle of the view, taking as reference the roof of a neighboring house. Estimated duration: 3 to 5 minutes.

During its evolution, the object gave the impression of losing balance. It seemed to be very low and, and about to fall down, but it stayed below the Serra do Curral line, to the right of the TV repeater. He thinks the object was over the city, possibly in the vertical of the 12th R.I.

2) Personal interview, at the observers’ residence:

a) Mrs. Maria da Glória confirms that she was at the door of the kitchen, facing the Serra do Curral [south], observing the weather, when she saw a kind of dark cloud with different movements, looking like it was going to fall. During its evolution it presented varied and poorly defined formats, due to rain clouds. The size was “huge”. The speed of the movements removed the initial impression of the cloud.

The observer called her husband and he alerted the neighbors. At a certain point, the object was sharper, shaped like a plate. He believes that the changes in shape were due to movements. The object did not emit luminosity and was not confused with clouds, as it was darker and more consistent. It gave the impression that it was going to fall towards the Belvedere neighborhood, but then it went up. Mrs. Maria da Glória thinks that someone else in the city must have seen it.

b) Ms. Maria José, 24, student, said that the neighbor would. Mario called his father and he saw the object together with 8 or 9 people in the family. At first she noticed a dark spot, towards the neighborhoods of Cidade Jardim and Santo Antônio, just above the contour of Serra do Curral. The black spot began to make wavy movements, rising and turning and showing different contours at every moment. Sometimes it looked like a bird, sometimes like a very clear saucer.

The sky, around the object, was lighter than on the opposite side. The object stood out in the clouds. Its movements were fast, but they could be followed. It gave the impression of a flock of swallows, but it seemed to be a single object, with oscillating movements made in a restricted range. At one point, it ‘threatened’ to descend, even having distant houses as a background.

During the descent it took a vertical and the same position rose vertically, then disappeared. (Maria José places a saucer upright to explain the position of the object). The sharpness of the contour occurred in a short period. It was estimated that the object was at the height of 12th R.I.”

“Another strange and unprecedented fact happened to one of the animals from Mr. Osman Rodrigues’ Farm, located in Santa Vitória do Palmar (RS).

At dawn that day, the employees found a Polled-Angus cow dead in strange circumstances. The udder was extracted from the animal by means of a perfect circular incision, completely covering it, so that it came out entirely, including, with all its branching of blood vessels, milk ducts, breasts, etc. There was no bleeding and the udder was completely clean.

This cow was in the most perfect health, as was verified at the time of the daily inspection made on the previous day, in the afternoon. It would have suffered a quick death during the night, because, in the place, where the animal was lying, there was no sign that he had kicked scratching the ground. After realizing the strange fact, Mr. Osman’s employees removed the animal’s skin, as usual, and buried the rest. This curious episode happened just 150 meters from the farm houses, and nobody noticed anything, not even the animal’s screaming.

STRANGE DEATH OF A LAMB [SPIPDV Research]

TRANSLATION

Between July 27th and 31st, 1975.

At Mr. Osman Rodrigues’ Farm, in Santa Vitória do Palmar (RS), another strange case was repeated with one of his sheep.

According to Mr. OSman’s own report, a sheep from his property, of the Corriedale breed, gave birth to a lamb, apparently in normal birth, during the night. However, shortly after dawn, the little animal was found dead in strange circumstances.

On its muzzle, something like a “suction cup” had been placed, and it seems that, by this means, all the blood was extracted. This was verified, when removing the respective skin, as usual. The bones of the muzzle and around it were completely broken or dented, possibly due to the strong compression suffered. Also an interesting detail: from the tip of the tongue, which was retracted into the mouth, a piece was removed, using a sharp instrument or something like that.

Both Mr. Osman and his employees are of the opinion that it would be impossible for such a thing to be the work of a dog or even any other predatory animal, since they did not notice any scratching of the claws in the lamb, or teeth mark on the lamb’s body.

Such an episode happened in the same area where in 1973 those others were recorded, in which the sheep appeared dead, in the middle of the flock, with “strange holes in the neck” and completely without blood. A woman reported a close encounter with an extraterrestrial inside her house . Pelotas-RS [1973]

“Mrs. Maria Farias Leivas, 66, married, resident of Balneário dos Prazeres (Laranjal), in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, told us the following and extraordinary fact she witnessed.”

“It was about 10:00 am, on October 7th, 1973. She was alone at home, and her husband had left for work. Mrs. Maria, was frightened when she noticed strange noises inside a room in the back of her residence, as if someone was walking around there. She could clearly hear footsteps on the floor. In this place of the house, groceries are stored and there are also some objects, including sleeping hammocks and fishing nets, belonging to his son, a married man, who lives in another house.

Mrs. Maria Leivas, despite her fear, went to check what was going on, but she didn’t see the intruder. After that, she reached the front door of the house, and was surprised when she looked. There, standing, was a “strange boy”, a type of student, but very similar to a Japanese man, mainly his eyes. He would be about 1.50m to 1.60m tall, skinny, and his clothing was very similar to that of a “hippie, but his blue-gray blouse had designs that were totally strange for the witness, similar to a rhombus. The belt had an unknown buckle type.

Maria approached the visitor and, of course, she asked who he was and what he wanted. To her surprise, the “boy” told him that moments earlier he had been inside the residence looking for a type of net that his son knew how to make. He added that he was not from Earth, but from another planet far beyond in the Space, and that his main objective when he was there was to learn how to make such a net, which would be used in baskets through which they would descend from their ships to the ground.

Then, Maria thinking that she was being fooled, told him that he had to leave, since she had no time to lose with someone who wanted to have fun at her expenses.

Faced with this impasse, the “young man”, to prove he was serious, pointed up and told the lady to watch as “they” descend from the ship that was not visible. Maria noticed, then, that suspended by a rope, came down towards the ground, a large and empty basket, made of ropes or similar material (see case of Canada, in 1971, SS&S Bulletin No. 63, 1973, p. 17) . She couldn’t see where the rope ended up there, only that it held the basket (about 2 meters high, approximately) which stopped when it touched the ground and then flattened it out, a few meters from the point where Maria and the “boy” were.

During the contact with extraterrestrial, which lasted about 5 minutes, he told the witness that “they have the ability to be among us humans without being noticed”, including with university students. For that they are characterized, or better, they take our human form, with the same clothes that we commonly wear, and so they walk easily among us without being perceived “.

One thing that really caught Maria’s attention, since the beginning of the encounter with the strange character, was a thin, silvery-yellow, shiny, but very beautiful rope that the “boy” carried with him under the arm. Asking about the uses of that rope, he replied that it was intended for making the net, whose type of weave he intended to learn to make with his son.

Maria remembered to ask the “young man” for a piece of the rope, but he surprisingly denied, saying that he was not allowed to do so. But, he said, the humans ahead will still have this material from which the rope is made, which using just a small piece, if diluted in water and taken three times, can cure our diseases, including cancer .

After that, the strange “boy” called Maria’s attention so that she could look at the way he was going to leave. Then, afterwards, she almost fainted, having to lean on the gate so as not to fall, and when she recovered, the strange visitor and the basket were no longer present. The lady immediately went looking for him, trying to see where he and the basket were, but as much as she looked, she saw nothing else. It was as if they had evaporated.

COMMENTS

It should be added here that the extraterrestrial said to the witness, that he would return at another time when his son was working in the making of the net but that he would probably not be seen.

And this really happened, after approximately one year, after that memorable day on October 7, 1973, when the extraterrestrial appeared in front of Maria Leivas.

Mr. Manoel Leivas, 44 years old, married, son of Dona Maria, in an interview we had with him, told us the following: on a certain night, between 22:00hs and 23:00hs, after having obtained a piece of a rope for mooring ship, unraveling it, he managed to elaborate with that piece of rope, another part of the net.

Manoel Hugo told us that, on that occasion, he felt a strange sensation, as if he were being watched closely by someone invisible! With that in mind, he tried to work as quickly as possible and within an hour his task was over, having left the needles stuck in his own net, something he had never done before. After that occasion, he never resumed his work.

As for the authenticity of the present case, we have no doubt in accepting it as such, since other facts exist that corroborate this. Here in Brazil, for example, several cases of this nature have already occurred. SBEDV Bulletin no. 94/98, has printed on one of its pages, an article under the title “Observations of Discos Voadores no Pará”, by Ester C.L., in which she mentions cases of witnesses who saw extraterrestrial beings disappear in front of them. One fact mentioned by Ester C.L. deserves a special observation. The case Brigadier Commander of the Val-de-Cãs Air Base [in Belém do Pará] himself reported to her:

“My soldiers also saw this couple. Because they found him very surprising, they decided to follow them on the road and, likewise, the” couple suddenly disappeared. “I am very grateful for this testimony, which is valuable to us, asking you to keep secret to all of this.“

Now, a statement like that, coming from a high-ranking military man, such as this one, logically we must accept it without any major restrictions. This is because this officer certainly would not risk the position that he occupies of high responsibility, also the high reputation that he enjoys within that population, he would not report an unfounded fact.

The renowned researcher from Paraná, Carlos Varassim, our dear friend, through correspondence that addressed us, informed that when he traveled to Belo Horizonte, MG, in 1973, the illustrious colleague Prof. Guilherme Wirz confessed to him, that after many years studying the UFO problem, he came to the conclusion that “the beings that man the DVs [flying saucers] can present themselves to our eyes in different ways (and suits), this being not their real form”. And this, too, according to Wirz, was communicated by “them” telepathically to the tractor driver Toríbio Pereira, when he was told that “they presented themselves as they pleased in our eyes, and this is not their final, real form”.

Analyzing this aspect of the enigma presented by extraterrestrial beings, Carlos Varassim concludes: “Now, in the face of this fact (to be true), what advances all the immense work of Jader Pereira, classifying types, etc., if they are only appearances , not real beings?”

Maria Leivas is a person who should be classified as “sensitive”, because, in addition to this fact, she has seen strange things on many other occasions and even received communications from beings she says are from the “astral” [dimension]. In the Bulletin no. 03, from SPIPDV, pgs. 2 or 3 are dedicated to the first case lived by Mrs. Maria, that is, the one that occurred in 1952, when she was face to face with an alien crew member of a DV, with whom she had a quick dialogue, which tried “take her to another planet”.

Furthermore, to corroborate what we think about Mrs. Maria Leivas, it is interesting here to mention the article under the title “Are psychic people more likely to see UFOs?”, written by Janet Bord and published in the English Bulletin FSR of May / June 1972, on page 20, 21 and 22. In the initial text of her work, the columnist says:

“Now that UFO researchers are more and more considering the possibility of correlating UFOs with a whole range of hidden phenomena, it is interesting that a deeper investigation of those who spotted UFOs, reveals that each witness spotted a UFO more than once, and also experienced what is commonly called psychic experience. It seems that there is a certain “sensitivity in operation, and those who have it are more likely to see all sorts of strange things, invisible to most human eyes.“

“A man who falls into this category is Charles Jones. He lives in a pleasant rural area of Indiana-USA, and has seen UFOs frequently for the past 24 years.” Now, regarding Mrs. Maria Leivas, we found a very significant coincidence. She also resides in a “pleasant rural area”, which is located in the Balneário dos Prazeres and, like Charles Jones, the area where she lives and where all UFOs and other phenomena have been observed, is generally flat and also limited by a big forest that is on the margins of Lagoa dos Patos (where the Balneário dos Prazeres is located).

Our opinion, therefore, is that both Mrs. Maria Farias Leivas and the american Charles Jones, are psychic people, which is why they are endowed with an extraordinary extrasensory perception, a faculty that, certainly, conditions them to experiences and communications dictated by highly evolved extraterrestrial beings, interested for one reason or another on our planet Earth. / Luiz do Rosario Real – Pelotas, October / 75 “

“Luminous phenomena” observed in Capão do Leão, Pelotas-RS [1975]

“Luminous phenomena observed in a Farm located in Capão do Leão, Pelotas-RS”.

TRANSLATION

On June 28th, 1975, based on the information we had obtained previously from Mr. H.S., a radio transmission technician at Rádio Universidade de Pelotas, our group (consisting of the following people: L.R.R., President of SPIPDV, W.S.S. and P.L.M.C., also from SPIPDV, plus L.A.C., C.M., F.L.S., and H.N., all from the Astronomy Society of Colégio Municipal Pelotense) went to the farm owned by Mr. C. A. located in the rural area of Pelotas, in the district of Capão do Leão, and 35 km from the headquarters. We left the city in two cars at 3:10 pm and arrived there at 3:40 pm.

Unfortunately, we did not find Mr. C.A. on the property, because he had traveled to Pelotas in the morning. The foreman was also not present. With them we would have obtained information about the disappearance of animals on the farm, and even about the strange disease that has been observed in some animals. Therefore, we tried to talk to the foreman’s substitute. At first, he was a little afraid to say anything about the facts that have been happening on the farm. However, encouraged by us, he assured us that the reports we had about the existence of luminous phenomena and problems with animals, were correct, because he, although not having witnessed the events, knew through his service companions, of everything that happens in the farm.

Due to the late hour (it was already 4:00 pm), and as we would have to walk another 7 km until we reached the place of the events – this before dusk – and through a terrible path, we said goodbye to the man and continued our journey. We finally arrived in the area and we split into two groups, each one taking their own equipment, consisting of radio transmitters with a range of up to 27 km, compasses, battery, lanterns, binoculars, cameras and even a telescope.

However, before we arrived at this place – which is located next to some woods along the Piratini River, some 3 km before that point – we stopped at the last house of the farm, and met a person in charge of its machinery, Mr. AG with whom we talked for a few minutes. We asked him if he had seen a strange luminous object at night in that sector, and he promptly answered the following – this we recorded on magnetic tape – : “A few days ago, last week, me and my family, we saw three saucers at night, between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm, flying close to that bush by the Piratini River. They were round in shape, like two dishes one up another one down over the other, and they made no noise, they were about 10 meters from the ground, and had an orange color“.

The man also added that, next to the bush on the banks of the Piratini River, more precisely in Ilha das Uvas, there is a strange and curious “jeep” that occasionally “walks above the ground”, and also “over the trees “… (!?) This is what some of the workers told him. But also that “when they were alone, they were invited to take a ride in that strange vehicle, but they ended up throwing themselves from the vehicle to the ground, scared, when they realized how the “jeep” – instead of driving down the road – was “flying” (!?)

Some of these workers also told us that “sometimes a “strange knight” also appears, and once he rushed at them and when he was very close, he simply “disappeared as if by magic”.

Well, after arriving at the place indicated to wait for the appearance of the luminous phenomena, we split into two groups, and then we started looking for traces or footprints, which could denote the presence of aliens or even some strange vehicle.

One thing, right away, caught the attention of us all. There was no bird to be seen in the vicinity, not even to hear its song, something common when in the woods. The silence was total. We had a strange feeling, as if something invisible was watching us.

LIGHT FOCUS ON EUCALYPTUS FOREST

It would be between 5:00 and 5:30 pm, when the first fact happened: the young girl C.M., who had stayed with the first group, at the base point of operations, a little nervous, warned us over the radio that she had just seen, in a quick moment, the appearance of a bright white light, over an eucalyptus grove located on the northeast side and at 10° above the horizon.

We were all atentious, watching that sector, but we saw nothing after that communication. However, it seemed to us that a sixth sense warned us that something extraordinary was about to happen.

SPECTACULAR LIGHT PROJECTION, LIKE A HUGE “FIREPLACE”

Right after nightfall, it would be between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm, the second fact came across us, and in the same direction as C.M. had seen that light close to the ground, about 800 meters from where we were standing, a red light was projected. Then it gradually increased in size, and suddenly, it expanded upwards, like the flames of a huge fire, up to a height of about 10 m. From there, the color changed to an orange tone in the upper part, and below it had a rotating bright red color, as seen from binoculars. In the meantime, we noticed “flashes” of white light, which sometimes stood out from the larger light, that was orange.

This spectacle of rare beauty, such as the projection of light emitted there, lasted approximately 5 minutes. After that, we saw the transformation from orange and red light to an opaque white tone, and its size decreased a lot, becoming a triangular shape with the vertex upwards.

Moments after the curious projection had dimmed, I urged the companions to get closer to where the “light” was. Returning up to about 200 meters, along the same path, where we had passed before, we parked the cars and went to stand on an elevation of the terrain. From there we were able to observe better and with more vision the strange luminous phenomenon. We signaled several times, towards that point, with the battery lanterns, even blinking and describing angles with the beam of light, so that they would understand that we wanted them to approach us. For a moment, it seemed that its light was flashing. In the meantime, the orange light had already changed to a matte or opaque white, and at its side, about 20 meters away, another identical point of light appeared”.

RADIO TRANSMISSION CAPTURED

We were all in that natural euphoria and extremely agitated, with that dazzling spectacle that we had just witnessed, that we even forgot to set up the telescope, with which we could have better identified that light source.

But, I’m not sure why, I came up with the idea of trying to communicate over the radio with those intelligences that would certainly be maneuvering that light projection. And so we did. Followed by the other two in the group, we started by speaking more or less in this way: “Attention! If you really are astronauts from another planet who are here, try to give us an affirmative sign. We are here on a peace mission and we would like to contact you personally”. More than once, we repeated this without getting any answer.

But, when fellow W.S.S., spoke to him more or less in these words: “Gentlemen astronauts, brothers from another planet, please, so that we are sure that you are there and it is not an illusion of ours, erase the lights, please … turn off the lights …” And at that very moment, we saw ourselves with the most vivid emotion, when those two points of white light were completely extinguished, extinguishing from top to bottom, giving us the understanding that whoever was there had picked up the radio broadcast. Through the binoculars, I could see that at the point where the first luminous spot was located, there was only a tiny ball of red light, not perceived by the naked eye.

The reaction among the group was soon noticed. Some of the companions, perhaps because of their little knowledge of these facts, they were very nervous and quite agitated, with the intention of showing their desire to return immediately to the city, alleging problems with the car.

Therefore, as the coordinator of the group, I suggested that we waited just a few more minutes, to see if they would move towards where we were and, as it did not happen, we all started to come back to Pelotas, where we arrived at 21:00.

It is also worth adding the following: after that extraordinary light projection, we began to observe other points of white light, such as flashlights, over the bush to our left, to our rear, and also towards the right.

A very interesting fact: during the initial projection of that red and orange light, when we were still more distant, we heard over the intercom radio that we carried, as if there were several people speaking in Spanish, similar to the transmission of radio amateurs. However, we were so excited to observe the light phenomenon, that we did not remember to try to find out what they were talking about and where the transmission came from.

Still one more detail: the companion P.L.M.C., when the extraordinary red and orange light appeared, he took 3 photos with a film of 125 w., but, unfortunately, after developed, it was found that, in the film, he captured nothing, perhaps due to the little sensitivity of the film, which was a shame. “

A tractor driver reported strange beings around him in PELOTAS-RS [1976]

In a letter addressed to the Ministry of Aeronautics, the president of a UFO research group in the city of Pelotas, State of Rio Grande do Sul, [Pelotense Society for Investigation and Research of Flying Saucers] reports a close encounter of a tractor driver with humans unidentified.

[…] “About, the phenomena observed at Fazenda Triângulo Azul”, in Capão do Leão, City of Pelotas, we have been there for the last 3 months, and in one of those days we could still see the repetition of the luminous phenomena. “They had a red light, very beautiful” – in Pelotas-RS, people spotted several UFOs [1976]

SEPT 16th, 1976.

Reported by Mr. Luiz do Rosário Real, from Pelotas-RS, in a letter to the Ministry of Aeronautics, in Brasília-DF.

“16 SEPTEMBER 1976. PELOTAS – RIO GRANDE DO SUL.

At approximately 01:00 am, Mrs. L.G.R. saw two strange luminous objects with the shape of a star, white light, high altitude, which followed one after the other, very fast, in the east-west direction, towards Laranjal.

[Later that day] At 10:30 pm, mr. R. F., 30, married, Ciretran employee from Pelotas, observed the passage of 6 UFOs over Balneário Sto. Antônio, in Laranjal, near his residence. He said he was very surprised to see the strange moving objects, just 15 meters from the ground, lined up, 50 meters apart. They were round in shape, approximately 50 cm in diameter, and made a slight “hiss”.

They had a red light, very beautiful, different from the conventional red. Trajectory; they went from Northwest to Southeast, towards Lagoa dos Patos, where they later disappeared.

NOTE: Due to the size observed, we assume that they would be [remotely] “guided”.

Mr. R. F. was interviewed by us the next day, and he was still visibly impressed with what he saw. He informed that at the moment he saw the objects, he even sat on the floor to better observe them. He could not see details of them, due to the strong light which emanated from them.

“A beautiful and very rare spectacle” – ATCs and a FAB pilot spotted a UFO near Vitória-ES [1977]

OPERATIONS

At approximately 20:00 on December 16th, 1977, when returning to Salvador, on the occasion of establishing contact / radio with Vitória for position message “Itapemirim” (entrance / terminal VT), we were informed by the controller in Vitória that there was a unidentified flying object, approximately 20 miles from the vertical VT and 20,000 feet of altitude (information given perhaps by a BOEING plane).

The strange device, according to the information from the controller, who was observing it with binoculars with seven more people, had characteristics similar to a “Mother Ship” and was surrounded by smaller ones that were around it and curved 180 degrees, while the largest ship remained almost stationary, with varying brightness and size.

The larger ship, according to the informant, sometimes had a slight tail and was a beautiful and very rare spectacle. He also informed that he called Brasília Center to try to establish radar contact.

As for the crew of our plane, it was only possible to see a huge ball, the color of the stars, but much larger, which increased and decreased in size and brightness. ANV’s visibility was limited due to sparse clouds that did not allow regular observation of the phenomenon.

Pilots and controllers reported a strong light UFO between Bauru and Campinas [1978]

“Brasília, December 7th, 1978.

“For future references regarding the event that occurred on December 06th, involving a UFO, this is what the air traffic controller CTA P..L.M. [radar approved, category A / 1] reports:

Control Units and Centers involved – TWR SBSP, TWR SBKP, TWR SBBU [Control Towers of: São Paulo /Campinas-SP/Bauru-SP], APP SBSP [Approach Control – São Paulo Airport] and ACC SBBR [Control Center of Brasília-DF Airport].

Aircrafts involved – PT SBD and PT SBJ from TAM (both from SBKP to SBBU, respectively at flight levels 060 and 080 – separation of both 20 longitudinal miles). * SBKP – Airpor of Campinas-SP; SBBU – Airport of Bauru-SP*.

Observation duration: approximately 25 minutes (with no actual radar contact with the object).

1. Around 06:57Z via telephone, the TWR from SBKP asked us about any radar contact of object warned by them; according to those operators, the object was of great luminosity and moved quickly in several directions. Negative answer by the ACC SBBR.

2. In a short period of time from the previous call, the TWR of SBSP also called us via telephone, asking us about an object, with the same characteristics, immediately following the question from the APP SBSP that also did not receive anything on the radar abnormal.

3. The PT SBD aircraft, first at takeoff, after activating a transponder, asked us if we were aware of other traffic on the same SBKP radial in a higher FL [level]. He had been informed of traffic by PT SBJ, which had not released the São Paulo TMA and was in QSO with APP. (the question was very strange to us, since the two aircrafts involved belonged to the same company and they fly regularly at the same time and stretch, so the commander should have knowledge of the other).

4. Around 07:10Z, PT SBJ called us freeing the TMA, informing us that there was something luminous following him since his SBKP takeoff, initially on the left and, soon after, on the right of his aircraft. We ask you to activate the transponder. ACC SBBR negative response after identification.

5. In the meantime, we request, via telephone to verify someone on duty in the video recording room, once we have tested over the telephone without contestation. The technician told us he would check. We told him that if he did, [he should also have to] alert the video recording operator to be ready for any request from us.

6. At approximately 07:20Z, PT SBD, entering the SBBU TMA, asked us to start the descent and then to call Bauru radio for descent. He informed us that the object had the ability to accelerate and decelerate in a very short time. We ask, taking advantage of the opportunity, to send us a part and / or report of the incident, addressing CISDACTA.

7. We alert the TWR of SBBU to observe anything strange coming from Campinas (RD300), that is, in the direction of 120 degrees.

8. PT SBJ, after a few minutes after contacting us, the commander seemed to us to be somewhat nervous, and we had the idea to inform him that these objects are frequently seen by many other aircraft without, however, having heard of any interference with their navigation or equipment.

9. This same aircraft returning us, informed that in addition to the luminosity there was a “traffic” in the three-hours position, passing below the said luminosity. According to the pilot, it seemed like an aircraft to the reaction. (NOTE: ACC SBBR was not aware of any aircraft to the reaction in that sector, and, we reiterate that we had no primary return or transponder response from any aircraft, obviously excluding these two traffic.)

10. Approaching the SBBU TMA, he asked us to start the descent. After authorization to enter QSO with radio Bauru, he told us he still had the light on his right and much closer. At this point the message was interrupted and we then lost the QSO.

11. We call Bauru again, who informed us that he saw on the left of the aircraft something luminous looking like a different star, very close to traffic.

12. We want to emphasize, at the present time, that at no time did the pilots report any difficulty in navigating, landing, also without difficulties.

We inform that although we did not obtain an effective radar contact of the probable objects reported, we noticed the beginning of tracking, however very quickly. [If these are characterized by an empty circle) there is naturally no conviction on our part that this was some sort of meteorological formation.

A FAB pilot reported a stationary strong light near Recife-PE [1978]
